Training
Our training sessions are created to meet the needs you have at the time. Those who attend say that they like our straight forward, practical and relatable style and often say they feel more optimistic after a session.
Whether you are looking for INSET training for your entire team, a focussed session for particular staff members to meet a child’s needs or a forum for sharing and learning best practice, we’d be delighted to deliver sessions either online or in person.
As a trainer/lecturer, Nicky is able to mix her knowledge and past experience as both an educational and business psychologist to provide engaging, evidence-based training sessions. There is always plenty of time to ask questions and to discuss how what has been covered in the session can be applied in the classroom or inclusion hub.
In-service training
Continuing professional development for teachers is a key element of the service we provide. Some of our workshops have standard names but are delivered in the Valuing Minds way.
Others (and by that we mean most) are created specially for the needs of your school or college ensuring in-service training provided by Valuing Minds is really focussed, interactive, interesting and informative, as well as enjoyable! Examples of programmes we can run include:
- Supporting children with dyslexia
- Supporting children with dyscalculia
- Supporting children with dyspraxia
- Stress management for teachers
- Using person-centred thinking tools
- Creating one page profiles
- Person centred EHCP review meetings
- Behaviour modification techniques
- Spotting mental health issues – and what action to take
- Partnerships for better outcomes
- Meeting the needs of neurodiverse young people
- Supporting LGBTQ+ young people in school
- whatever you need!
If you’d like us to, we can run separate sessions for NQTs, experienced teachers and support staff – at times and locations to suit you.
If you’re part of an Academy Trust and would like Valuing Minds to run training sessions for staff from several schools at once (SENCOs or inclusion teams, for example) or the same training in several schools at different times, just get in touch. If you’d like us to include some of the material from our Supporting Teachers programme so you can look at how Trust policy can be formulated across a number of schools, we’d be happy to do that.
For more information, please fill in this form and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can
“It was a really insightful session”, and “I found Nicky’s session really interesting, it would be great to have her back again”.

SENCO and Inclusion Manager forums
Prior to covid, Valuing Minds ran a series of popular forums, where SENCOs and Inclusion Managers could meet, share ideas and resources, discuss common issues and hear experts in their field deliver training workshops. We’re keen to deveop these again and create more services to support young people, staff and leaders. If you’d like to be involved, please email enquiries@valuingminds.com and we’ll be in touch
Cost & How To Book
How much the training will cost depends on the training that you would like Valuing Minds to deliver! The best way to find out and to book is to contact us and we’ll talk you through all the options.
