Here’s what people are saying about Valuing Minds……….
Thank you very much for the very thorough report. I feel I know M infinitely better than before and have a much clearer understanding (and therefore more patience!) about how her brain works.
We now have specific ways in which we can help her both at school and at home, all of which will help M hugely and for this we are very grateful.
Thank you for your support by attending the EHCP review meeting and the report written about my son, J. This will provide the foundations of support for the remaining years in education which is invaluable. Also from a broader sense too, with the right focus on his strengths and acceptance of his difficulties I am hopeful for J.
THANK YOU for helping us see this.🌟
“Words can’t express my gratitude enough, Nicky. Firstly thank you for coming in and seeing beneath the surface, and truly seeing and understanding how difficult things were for my daughter. Thank you for listening to us and taking our views into account. Thank you for your super comprehensive assessments and reports that left no stone unturned and eventually helped us gain the provision and specialist school my daughter so clearly needed. You have been brilliant the whole way through this process from initial call to the tribunal. You have played a huge part in changing one very distressed seven year old little girl’s life for the better and ours as a family. My biggest gratitude always.”
Thanks so much for sending the report through and we really appreciate all the work you’ve put into it. It’s a much better report on where I is at than we had previously and will really help us to get the support that she needs. It’s so nice to feel that she is finally being seen and understood – has been a long slog to get some support for I, but I feel so hopeful that we can get the right help for her now and start to move forward.
Nicky and Olivia visited my son at school and had a discussion with me. They provided me with a detailed report, showing his needs in depth, including a cognitive assessment and fantastic provision recommendations. My questions were answered quickly and I would highly recommend.
Our experiences with Valuing Minds have been very positive. Diniyah and Naomi visited my daughters at home for the first part of the autism assessment and were exceptionally kind and encouraging to two nervous girls (and their nervous mum!). At the same time, this part of the assessment was very efficient and professional. Likewise when I met with Diniyah to complete the second part of the assessments, the entire process was of a very high standard, yet also somehow warm and recognisant of how difficult such a setting can be for a worried parent. I would thoroughly recommend Valuing Minds to anyone seeking an autism assessment for their young person, and in fact have done so already.
Many thanks Nicky and thank you for producing such a helpful report and for your excellent input as a witness at the Tribunal at such short notice
“I would just like to say how wonderful Olivia was to work with. She really took the time to understand L and her report really reflects the little boy we see in school.”
Thank you so much for completing your report. I did feel like your report was a true reflection of J’s strengths, needs and the kind of support he will need. Although J didn’t complete a lot of your tests you did see him how things really are. I was really pleased with the quality and detail of your report.
I chose Nicky based on recommendations and her experience in tribunal cases. My son was delighted to meet her, and he underwent numerous activities. The resulting 40-page report was thoughtfully organised, taking into consideration my self-identified dyslexia, making it easy for me to comprehend. What stood out to me about the report was its clear presentation of facts. Rather than solely providing percentiles, it uniquely specified the age level at which my son is currently functioning in various areas. Upon reading half of the report, I gained a profound understanding of my son’s needs, which was heartbreaking. However, I also felt uplifted by the report’s subsequent extensive list of actions that can be taken at school arranged under each of the 5 EHCP needs headings. Furthermore, some of these recommendations can be easily implemented at home. After reading the report, I had a discussion with Nicky to clarify a few minor points. The report is so comprehensive that I only had a few questions regarding advice I could follow at home. Thank You So Much Nicky.
“Thank you again for your time and efforts to aid my daughter in her education.”
“It was presented in a way that school understand – providing an objective view.”
“Nicky was very thorough and helpful. Report and verbal feedback following the assessment were very detailed and have helped in planning future support strategies for the pupil.”
“I used some suggestions and it improved my relationship with my child.”
“Thank you for doing such a great job on the report.”
“Thank you SO, SO much for your lovely helpful and informative email! You have really put forward some brilliant ideas for helping E……. I have forwarded it to J and am sure she will start to use some of the strategies you suggest. “
“At quite an emotional time for us, Nicky was such a support. She acted to get things moving with my daughter’s assessment so quickly and, in just over a week, we had a meeting with the school set up. Nicky is professional and has a lovely manner which put my daughter at ease from the beginning. Thank you for all your help Nicky.”
“Just a quick note to say a huge thank you once again, for all your support with our tribunal appeal. Your voice was such an important part of our evidence and we are so grateful for your expertise. J is loving his new school. He is incredibly happy and absolutely thriving. As a family we couldn’t be more excited for him! Many thanks once again.”
“Thanks very much for all your efforts – as said before, I’m very pleased with the report and have submitted it to LA.”
“The Tribunal made some lovely references to your reports! Thank you, Nicky”
“Thank you so much. What a great, clearly written report…..Let me share it with teachers at school and work on implementing your recommendations.”
“Thank you for all your efforts with our report, having the right wording makes all the difference.”
“Your report was superb, it was clear to read, and the needs and provision were quantified and specified. Thank you!”
“I just wanted to say thank you for speaking to me the other day about A’s assessment. It really was very good to hear your feedback and talk about all options to support her more in school in future. I know it has already helped us be more proactive to help her in different ways with more social stories and preparing her for the move more and knowing that all the strategies to help her do school work are a good idea.”
“Thank you so much for the report. I think it’s absolutely brilliant! It’s so in-depth. Thank you for getting the best out of him. Now it all makes sense why he struggles so much at school. I am so grateful that you can see how much provision he needs. It’s been clear to us for years that there is a lot more to D and his needs than what you see on the surface, but no one has ever listened or believed us. So thank you.”
“We just got the news that his appeal was allowed and therefore he goes to X as the named school. We can’t thank you enough for the work you did and representing us so well and your support with the hearing. We have a big smile tonight and feels like a weight has been lifted!”
“We WON! Thank you so much for your hard work in supporting me with A’s school placement. I’m so relieved and happy that A will get the support he deserves.”
“I just wanted to send a note to just again thank you for your assistance and input. We are so pleased with the outcome and hope that over time P’s EHCP is of a standard that will really start to help address her needs – something we would never have achieved without your fantastic input.”
“Nicky at Valuing Minds offered a professional, friendly and supportive service from the first communication we had with her. We were very impressed with the manner that she dealt with our daughter. We felt that she got the very best from her under such difficult conditions with the lockdown and her report represented an excellent and accurate reflection of our daughter. We are very grateful and would use Nicky again without hesitation.”
“I’ve been over the report in detail now and it is extremely comprehensive, thanks. You got a really good grip of K and her ‘story’ from all her ramblings! There are lots of super recommendations for her EHCP and the conclusion is perfect – thank you.”
“Many thanks for the report. It is extremely thorough and whilst it’s tough to read how challenging things are for X, we are just so heartened that your report clearly maps out his difficulties in such a detailed way. The report is everything it should be and more, so huge thanks for putting in such a lot of hard work for X. We hope this report will help him going forward and importantly support him in finding the right school for his next journey.”
“Nicky’s help has been invaluable for my daughter. She fitted us in for an assessment at short notice. She engaged well with my daughter, who doesn’t normally like new people, by talking about her topics of interest. One of the best things about the assessment is my daughter shows extreme school anxiety at home but tells everyone she’s ok. Rather then accepting she was “ok” Nicky got her to explore her feelings using visual cards and it was sad to see that my daughter did not feel safe or included in school. We now have a through, detailed report with some excellent educational provision, for my daughter’s EHCP, which will help her to learn and improve her future outcomes. Thanks Nicky.“
“Thank you so much for your support, Nicky. From our initial chat I felt that you understood the position and would be able to provide the professional support to argue for providing O with a 24/7 waking day curriculum in a post 19 specialist residential college.
O felt immediately at ease with you, ensuring the face to face assessment process went well. Your report was very detailed and helped highlight the additional needs and provisions in a clear and concise manner and provided a detailed comparison between our preferred placement against the LA’s preferred one. We were able to use your report to fight for changes to O’s EHCP. Having committed to being available for the Tribunal, ultimately this was not needed as the LA conceded a few days beforehand, both in respect of placement and all the amendments to the EHCP that were raised in your report.
O is settling in well to her residential college. You helped take the stress out of the fight and to make it all worthwhile. Thank you.”
