Valuing Minds is now able to offer autism assessments. We adopt a ‘Gold Standard’ approach to such assessments, which will be conducted by a multi-disciplnary team involvng some or all of the following: Yasmin Lazarus, Educational Psychologist, Diniyah Rehman, Assistant Educational Psychologist, and Naomi Sims, Speech and Language Therapist. Following the production of a detailed report, the results are reviewed and ratified by a Psychiatrist. The assessment is likely to include:

• a structured interview with you using the Autism Diagnostic Interview -Revised (ADI-R) to obtain detailed background information
• a one-to-one session with your child, using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)
• observation of your child, in nursery, school or college, if appropriate
• a conversation with nursery, school or college staff, if appropriate
• a review of the data and findings with a multi-disciplinary team
• preparation of a detailed report outlining the findings of the assessment
• an online feedback session.
